In 2021, men appeared on screen 2x as many times as women.

Only 11 of the highest grossing 100 films in 2021 featured a woman of color as lead or co-lead.

27% of all DC and Marvel characters are female, and only 12% of mainstream superhero comics have female protagonists. Behind the scenes, 39% of comic book writers are women, and only 20% are non-white.

And that’s exactly why we’ve made it our mission to create an inclusive ecosystem that is open to any creator no matter where you come from, what you look like or who you know.

A JUMPCUT PROJECT

We are a web3 entertainment company that is democratizing Hollywood through harnessing our collective creativity to build IP and premium storytelling brands from the bottom up.

Meet the first rising star from our collective: Eva Morales. Eva is a problem solver, truth seeker, certifiable badass… and World of Women’s first private investigator. Together with her trustworthy and oh-so-smart companion Naila, Eva solves mysteries for – and opens up the inner lives of – women of all colors, beliefs, professions, passions, cultures, shapes and sizes.

Women of Mystery strives to elevate female, non-binary and other underrepresented writers and creators, supporting them in the creation of diverse characters (like Eva!), stories and premium IP via Jumpcut’s collaborative community storytelling platform.

WoM COUNCIL

Women of Mystery is bolstered by a council of industry-leading women and non-binary voices across media, entertainment, tech, and web3, united in Jumpcut’s mission of empowering inclusive and community-driven storytelling. As bad-ass gatekeepers and mold-breakers, the WoM Council exists to champion our stories, educate and foster the community, and arm us with the power to scale this vision.
